Day 1 of 2000mg PrimaVie shilajit

Wow, this is the most impressive EDS treatment I've seen since BPC-157 capsules. I took 8 primavie 250mg caps last night and felt it within minutes.

Then this morning, it felt like my joints and skin were held together better, and I also felt my brain healing a lot from my series of mild concussions.

This seems like a really significant way to address genetic expression. I got the idea from this patent.

I still feel like my nasal infections are holding me back from healing, but I don't know what else to do. I'm using povidone iodine nasal washes occasionally, with Johnson's baby shampoo for biofilms and some salt, and boiling the water 3 min since I'm at high elevation.

Patent for using shilajit to treat collagen disorders

https://patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/6d/6e/85/9659a0040cfb2b/WO2016054433A1.pdf

Notes:
33 percent of the protein in the body is collagen.
Collagen keeps skin hydrated. Decreases in collagen cause loss of elasticity.
Collagen makes bone stronger.
Osteoporosis is related to low collagen.
UVA/UVB affects collagen.
Tenascin XB is a glycoprotein that is expressed in connective tissues.
PrimaVie shilajit is purified and standardized.
Dose in the patent is between 20-2000mg (so 8 capsules of Vitacost PrimaVie 250mg shilajit)
Interesting that growth hormone injections are being researched as a treatment for osteoporosis.
Shilajit upregulated some extracellular matrix genes: "Those significantly up-regulated genes are tenascin XB (TNXB), decorin (DCN), myoferlin (MYOF), collagen (COL) (type I, II, III, V, VI, XIV), elastin (ELN), fibrillin 1 (FBNl), and fibronectin 1 (FN1)"

Great. Well, I'm going to try the 2000mg/day dose for my mold-induced hypermobile EDS/hypermobility spectrum disorder.

Trying Integrative Peptides BPC-157

My doctor gave me BPC-157 from Integrative Peptides to try.

I've been taking it for a week.

I can definitely be rougher with my body and areas that used to be injured. However, it's not life-changing. Maybe 10% improvement.

The main improvement I see is that my sun sensitivity isn't as bad. I can be in the sun longer without sun damage. Sun feels good. It takes longer to get that burning sensation from sun exposure. (When I say I can be in the sun longer, I mean, 5 minutes as opposed to 1 minute.)

What is tenascin X?

"Tenascin X is a large extracellular matrix protein associated with collagen fibrils involved in extracellular matrix maintenance. A tenascin X deficiency results in fragmentation of elastic fibers, reduction of collagen, failure of fibroblasts to correctly deposit collagen, and loose packing of collagen fibrils."

Anyone else out there with EDS from CIRS, mold illness, Lyme disease, Bartonella?

I have some kind of really severe collagen disorder or injury propensity which seems to have come from Lyme disease, Bartonella, and mold illness/CIRS.

Some ways it affects me:

-Difficult to find clothing that does not injure my tendons and ligaments or contribute to organ prolapse susceptibility. I wear a lot of stretchy, lightweight clothes that avoid pressure on parts of my body that are prone to injury.

-It is dangerous for me to shake hands with strangers (who can hurt my shoulders or elbows).

-Tendency toward flat feet and bunions.

-G-forces can injure me. I prefer taking turns slowly and braking and accelerating slowly in the car. I dislike curvy roads since curving back and forth tends to pull on my ligaments and injure me.

-Propensity for stress fractures. I have had about ten stress fractures or bone strains in seven years.

-Poor healing from injuries, and very affected by minor injuries. e.g., had serious complications from a very minor rear-end car accident that caused no observable damage to my car.

-My Achilles tendon has chronic inflammation that can be aggravated by driving. It's hard to hold the gas pedal down consistently; I usually let it up to take breaks.

When did this develop? Not after I first got Lyme disease, but when I stopped antibiotics three years later to try the Rife machine. Then it became much worse when I moved to a water-damaged apartment and got mold poisoning. It felt like my body was Jello and barely holding together.

My best guess at this point is that it has to do with a deficiency of tenascin, which is made by the TNXB gene on the RCCX cluster. That would explain why my tendons and ligaments are very affected and also my collagen and elastin both seem to be affected, but I don't have classic EDS symptoms.

If you have this, please leave a comment on this post!

Shilajit helps to upregulate TNXB

Found this amazing article on how a patented form of shilajit helps to increase extracellular matrix (ECM) genes, including TNXB, which makes tenascin.

The Human Skeletal Muscle Transcriptome in Response to Oral Shilajit Supplementation

TNXB and some collagen and elastin genes were some that were up-regulated. "TNXB was increased by ∼1.7-fold."

I used to take daily shilajit (the resin) back when I was doing better with CIRS-caused EDS.

Upregulating ECM genes including TNXB might be a good approach.
